5 weeks ago I started a new series on Batched cocktails.
To remind you what a batched cocktail is making them by the pitcher or the gallon —means that when you're hosting, you don't have to also be filling shakers and knocking over the bitters, rattling ice and accidentally squirting yourself in the eye with lemon juice. The drinks are made. Dinner will come later. Just pour and join your guests.
Just like our last series on freezer door cocktails doing batched cocktail takes a little math to make it work. But the process is pretty simple
Made with a blueberry-lavender simple syrup, lime juice, and vodka, this refreshing soda spritzer is an easy happy hour cocktail that everyone will enjoy. The simple syrup is quick to prepare and makes enough for this pitcher as well as future beverages. Either fresh or frozen blueberries will work in this drink, and fresh lavender is best, although you can use dried food-grade lavender buds if need be.
Batch made Lavender Vodka Spritzer
Ingredients Lavendar Simple Syrup
- 2 cup water
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 8 sprigs fresh lavender, or 2 tablespoon dry culinary lavender
Ingredients Vodka Spritzer
- 32 oz of Vodka
- 16 oz of Blueberry Lavender Syrup
- 8 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 2 liters Club Soda
Instructions to make the simple syrup.
Combine the water, sugar, and blueberries in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
Reduce the heat to a low simmer and add the lavender sprigs or dried culinary lavender.
Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
Strain the syrup into a jar; as you pour, use a muddler to squeeze all the remaining juice from the berries.
Pour all ingredients into a one gallon container.
Instructions Assemble Cocktail
I get a Outdoor beverage dispenser with metal stand and pour batched cocktail into dispenser.
Fill glass with Ice and small handful of Blueberries and fill with cocktail.
